Adv. Heena Singh is a maritime and regulatory lawyer with experience in shipping law, seafarer welfare, and maritime compliance. Having served as a Legal Consultant with the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, she has advised on matters relating to the Merchant Shipping Act, Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, RPSL licensing, crew disputes, wage claims, abandonment, and death and injury compensation cases. She has contributed to regulatory and policy initiatives under the amended Merchant Shipping framework, conducted hearings as Second Appeal Authority, and provided litigation support in matters involving the Union of India. Her work involved close coordination with shipowners, seafarer unions, recruitment and placement agencies, and government stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and international maritime standards.
